About Us
How We Work
Clear thinking before more activity
We do not arrive with a pre-written answer or assume that marketing is always the issue.
We start by understanding the business as it stands: what the leadership team is trying to achieve, what evidence already exists and where decisions are being made on assumption rather than fact.
From there, we look across the market, proposition, customer journey, commercial model, marketing approach and internal readiness. The aim is to identify the issues that matter most, rather than producing a long list of everything that could be improved.
The work is collaborative, but clients should expect direct questions and honest challenge. We make the trade-offs clear, separate immediate priorities from work that can wait and recommend a level of support that is appropriate for the stage of the business.
Our approach usually follows four stages:
1. Understand
We begin with the business context, the opportunity being pursued and the decisions the leadership team is trying to make.
2. Assess
We review the available evidence, test the assumptions behind the plan and identify where progress may be at risk.
3. Prioritise
We establish what needs to be validated, changed or built first, and what should be deliberately deferred.
4. Support
We agree the right next step, whether that is a focused piece of advisory work, fractional leadership or ongoing executive support.
The result is a clearer view of where the business stands, what matters now and where further investment is most likely to make a difference.
Executive Leadership Experience
Experience built through growth, turnaround and change
Naomi West has spent more than 20 years leading marketing teams and major business change within FTSE 250 and international organisations.
Much of that work has taken place at points when the business needed to change direction, strengthen its commercial position or build new ways of working. Her experience ranges from supporting Biffa’s turnaround and return to the FTSE 250 to helping Lloyd’s Register move from third-largest provider to global market leader in its core sector.
Along the way, she has developed new service propositions, grown digital revenue streams, redesigned global operating models and led major customer and data programmes. The work has delivered multi-million-pound pipelines, increased digital adoption and generated significant operating efficiencies.
Just as importantly, Naomi has built and led global teams through periods of real change, maintaining employee engagement in the top 5% while structures, priorities and expectations were being reshaped.
What shapes my approach
“I rarely find that a business has one neat marketing problem.
More often, the customer need, the commercial priority and the way the work is being delivered have started to pull in different directions. Marketing activity then becomes the visible issue, even when the real problem sits somewhere else.
My role is to work out what is actually getting in the way, make the choices clear and help the business move forward in a way it can realistically deliver.”
Leadership Philosophy
I have always believed the strongest results come from collaboration.
As a leader, my role is to create clarity, build trust and bring people together around a common objective. I have been fortunate to work with highly capable colleagues from different backgrounds, disciplines and cultures, and the best teams have rarely been the ones where everybody agrees.
They are the teams willing to ask difficult questions, challenge each other properly and remain focused on what the business is trying to achieve.
People are always central to performance, but they also need the right conditions around them. Good data, useful technology and a clear understanding of the customer all matter. My role is to bring those elements together and create an environment where people can do their best work and take responsibility for the result.
